The Igbo Community in Dorset warmly invites you, your family, and friends to join us for our grand celebration of the New Yam Festival (Iri Ji) a cherished tradition that honours the harvest, gives thanks, and unites people through food, music, and culture.

What to Expect:
From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into an atmosphere bursting with life, the sound of African drums, the sight of colourful traditional outfits, and the aroma of freshly prepared delicacies. The New Yam Festival is a time for us to share our heritage, pass on traditions to the younger generation, and welcome friends from every background to experience the richness of Igbo culture.
