BCP COUNCIL AWARD SPEECH BY ANTHONY AGWAGAH(President Igbo Community in Dorset).
Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. It is an honor and a privilege to receive this important award for a Good Neighbour. I am earnestly grateful for the recognition of being among the amazing locals that make a difference in our various communities.
Thanks to BCP Council Chairman, Cllr Nigel Hedges, the BCP Council Community Engagement Team, and the Panel of Judges, for organizing this fantastic event. Though, in my role as a Community Leader, I have faced several challenges but each one of them has strengthened me to make me the person I am today; someone who has developed a greater passion, a greater love, and a larger heart to serve humanity.
The late Steve Jobs( Founder and CEO of Apple) said: “The only way to do great work is to love what you do”. And in all honesty, I love what I do. Winning this award wouldn’t have been possible without the great support I have received from my fellow Igbo Community in Dorset (ICD) members and my families and friends. Thanks for your Commitment and Hard work and Love.
Most Grateful to my humble parents, Mr Daniel Agwagah (of the Blessed memory), and my mum, Mrs Patricia Agwagah for always reminding me to love and serve humanity. Above all, Glory be to Almighty God because I believe in God.
